Hi there! I’m Ray Hunt of fishingguidelakeconroe.com, and if you’ve been thinking about getting out on the water for some great Texas fishing, now is the time to plan your trip! My fall calendar for September, October, and November is filling up quickly, and I want to make sure you get a spot to experience the best season for fishing on Lake Conroe.
Prime Fishing Trips on Lake Conroe are Booking Fast!
Why Fall is the Best Time to Fish Lake Conroe
As the summer heat starts to fade, the fishing action on Lake Conroe really heats up! Fall brings a fantastic improvement to the bite for our main targets: Crappie, Catfish, and Bass.
- Crappie: Often called “white perch” here, they start moving from deeper haunts toward structure and cover, feeding heavily in preparation for the winter. This means fast action and full livewells!
- Catfish: The cooler water encourages these hard-fighting fish to roam and feed actively. We use a variety of techniques to target them, ensuring a great fight and a great meal.
- Bass: Both the Largemouth and Hybrid Striped Bass become highly aggressive in the fall. They are chasing shad and baitfish, making them easier to locate and thrilling to hook into.
Whether you’re looking to fill a cooler with crappie and catfish or target that trophy bass, the fall season offers the best odds for success.
Comfort, Safety, and Convenience Aboard
My trips are all about enjoying the process, regardless of the weather. My boat is a spacious, stable pontoon boat, which offers a completely different level of comfort than a typical bass boat.
- Protection: The pontoon has a full, sturdy cover that keeps everyone well-protected from the strong Texas sun and any unexpected rain shower. No more baking in the sun or getting soaked!
- Space: There’s plenty of room to move around, making it perfect for families, groups, or anglers who just appreciate extra space.
- Stability: The pontoon platform provides a stable, secure fishing environment, which is especially great for children and seniors.
I guide only one 5-8 hour trip per day. This focus ensures you get my full attention, and we have ample time on the water without rushing, maximizing our chances for a successful outing.
All Experience Levels Welcome!
My true joy is sharing the water with others. I genuinely enjoy fishing with everyone—from seasoned anglers looking to fine-tune their technique to complete beginners and kids just discovering the fun of fishing.
- For Beginners and Kids: I provide patient instruction on casting, baiting, and landing fish. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment, and nothing beats seeing a young angler land their first fish!
- For Experienced Fishermen: We can focus on specific techniques, target larger fish, and explore different parts of the lake. I keep up with the latest patterns and conditions, putting you on the fish.
All necessary bait, rods, reels, and tackle are provided. Just bring your fishing license, snacks, drinks, and excitement!
