We Fish For Catfish Year-Round!
Fishing for Catfish in Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe is a great destination for catfish anglers, and for good reason. The lake is home to a variety of catfish species, including channel catfish, blue catfish, and flathead catfish. The catfish in Lake Conroe can grow to be quite large, with some channel catfish reaching over 20 pounds and blue catfish reaching over 60 pounds. We focus on fishing for Channel Catfish and Blue Catfish on Lake Conroe
There are a few different ways to fish for catfish on Lake Conroe. One popular method is to fish with live bait. Live bait such as shad, goldfish, or stinkbait can be effective for catching all species of catfish. Another popular method is to use cut bait. Cut bait such as liver, chicken, or shrimp can also be effective for catching catfish.
The places we like to fish for catfish in Lake Conroe is along the old creek and river channels. These channels provide deep water, which is where catfish like to hang out. Another good place to fish is in the shallow flats adjacent to the channels. The flats are where catfish will move to feed.
The best time to fish for catfish in Lake Conroe is in the morning. This is when the catfish are most active. However, catfish can be caught throughout the day, especially during the summer months.
Here are some tips for fishing for catfish in Lake Conroe:
- Use live bait or cut bait.
- Fish in deep water along old creek and river channels.
- Fish in the shallow flats adjacent to the channels.
- Fish in the morning
- Use strong tackle.
- Be prepared for the occasional big fish.
With a little patience and some good bait, you’re sure to have a successful day of catfish fishing on Lake Conroe.

If You Like Catching Crappie then you need to have some TMT Hand Ties Jigs in your Tackle Box.
We use TMT Hand Ties Jigs because they frankly get the job done when it comes to catching Crappie.
These jigs are deadly under a bobber or simply jigging them alone in open water.
